The Floating Market, Bangkok
“What better way is there to get acquainted with the local population, learn about their culture and traditions and see what makes Bangkok so special, so unique, so mythical than a longtail boat tour!”
The floating market, Bangkok.
Take a long tail boat and visit one of the most popular destintions
A trip to the Damnoen Saduak floating market is worth seeing. Flat boats piled high with fresh produce fill the chaotic small 'khlongs' or canals, each jockeying for position and paddled by ladies ready to stop and bargain at a moment's notice. It's very colourful, noisy, touristy, great fun and the most-photographed destinations in Thailand.
During the long-tail boat ride to market, you'll pass orchards, traditional teak houses and local people going about their lives. You'll also visit Nakorn Pathom town, site of the largest pagoda in Southeast Asia.
The best way to fully appreciate a floating market is to hire our long-tailed boat for the day. A tour along the klongs also gives you an appreciation of Thai homes and gardens. Don't forget to get up real early for a trip to see the markets as they usually start at the crack of at dawn!.
